Annual Physical Exam

It is a yearly visit with your doctor to assess your health and prevent future problems. It can include a review of your medical history, measurements and screenings. 

What’s included

Review of medical history: Your doctor will ask about your current and past health issues, as well as your family history 

Measurements: Your doctor will check your height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration rate.

Body mass index: Evaluation of body weight and height, 21 to 24 normal, 25 and 29 overweight, 30 and 35 obesity and over 35 is morbid obesity.

Screenings: Your doctor may order blood tests, X-rays, or other screenings to check for conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes 

Vaccinations: Your doctor may update your vaccinations 

Health advice: Your doctor may provide personalized advice to help you lower your risk of chronic diseases 

Why it’s important

Even if you feel healthy, you should still get regular physical exams to help catch problems early
